Jamar is a lifelong Dutchess County resident, public servant, and community leader who believes in the power of service to strengthen communities. Born, raised, and educated in Poughkeepsie, Jamar is proud to be a product of Dutchess County. His family has called this community home for seven generations, giving him a deep appreciation for our history and a strong commitment to its future.

Jamar attended Poughkeepsie High School and later attended Marist College. He currently serves as City Chamberlain (City Clerk) for the City of Poughkeepsie, Trustee of the City of Poughkeepsie School Board, and serves as a leader within the Northern Dutchess Branch of the NAACP. Throughout his career, Jamar has focused on building trust in government, increasing transparency, and ensuring residents feel heard, respected, and connected to local government.

Jamar is running for Dutchess County Clerk because he believes the office should be responsive, accessible, and focused on serving people. He is committed to preserving the county's rich history, modernizing services, protecting public records, and delivering the highest level of customer service to every resident. Guided by his faith, his love for Dutchess County, and a lifelong commitment to helping others, Jamar is ready to bring a fresh perspective and proven leadership to the County Clerk’s Office.
